Getting started

Running a class

Your class is a group on Cuebids. You share lessons with it, run class events from your sets, and see how each student is doing, while your students use the app as they always do.

Your class group

  1. Create the class

In Teach, open Classes and press New class. A class is a Cuebids group: it has members, a chat and events, and you are its admin.

  2. Invite your students

Open the group from the class page and invite your students from there. They need a Cuebids account; a free one is enough.

Sharing a lesson

On the class page in Teach, pick one of your lessons under Share a lesson and press Share. The class gets the version you last published, and nothing you edit afterwards reaches them until you publish again.

Your students find the lesson on the group’s Lessons tab and go through it at their own pace. A lesson they have started waits for them on their Home screen with a Continue button, at the step they reached, and goes away once they finish it.

Following your students

Press Results on a shared lesson for a row per student: how far they got, their latest quiz score on each of the lesson’s decks, and how many boards they have practiced from it.

It is a quick way to see who has started before the next lesson, and which quiz the class found hard.

In the classroom

Present shows a lesson full screen, a page at a time, sized for a projector. Quiz answers stay hidden until you reveal them, so the room can answer first.

Class events from your boards

A set is boards you chose: from your own play, by deal type, or imported from a PBN file, each with your suggested auction. In the class group, Create event and pick the set, and the class bids the same boards, with a leaderboard to talk about afterwards.

As the group’s admin you can join an event with each student and follow how they bid, and see the class’s results together.

Common questions

Can a student be in more than one class?

Yes. Each class is a group, and a player can be in several.

What happens if I stop sharing a lesson?

It leaves the group’s Lessons tab. Your lesson is not deleted, and you can share it again.

Do my students need the app, or the web?

Either. Lessons, practice and class events work the same in the app and on cuebids.com.
