The two events
Both are played with advanced robots sitting East–West, which is why entry is a ticket a board — the same rate as a robot in a practice session. Both are played with a partner, and both are scored against everybody else who entered.

Joining one
- Find the event
Ongoing events sit at the top of the start page, and under the Events tab in the main menu.
- Check the price
Usually 8 tickets for the Daily and 24 for the Weekly. Occasionally an event is discounted or free, and then the normal price shows struck through beside it.
- Pick a partner
A mutual friend, or Lia if you have Diamond. If your friend's permissions are set to invite-only, joining sends them an invitation instead of starting straight away.
- Bid before it closes
Events close at midnight, Central European time. Whatever you have not bid by then does not count.
Inviting a partner
An invitation expires after three hours. While one is pending you cannot join the same event with somebody else — accept it or decline it first.
Entering with Lia
Events are partnership events, so you need a partner for them. Lia can take that seat, but doing so in the Daily or the Weekly needs a Diamond subscription.
How the leaderboard is scored
Each board is scored in stars as usual, zero to three, and the leaderboard ranks the totals. The Weekly therefore tops out at 72; a strong week lands nearer 69 than 72, because par is not always findable.
When two entries tie on stars, expected value separates them — the average value of the contracts you reached, not the score you happened to get.
The minimum to be listed
A pair needs 15 of the Daily's 24 stars, or 45 of the Weekly's 72, to be considered for the leaderboard. Both work out at a little over 60%.
Your own pair is always shown to you regardless, so a missing row means the minimum, not a bug. It is a display rule only: it does not affect who wins or what season points are awarded.
Reading the leaderboard
The header tells you where you stand — your position out of the number of pairs who entered — and four tabs let you narrow the field down to the comparison you actually want.
- All
- Every pair who entered.
- Friends
- Pairs containing somebody you are mutual friends with, or somebody you follow. Usually the only one that matters.
- Pros
- A curated list of strong players.
- Robots
- Pairs where a human played with a robot partner. Pairs of two robots are left out of the leaderboard entirely.
Comparing with one pair
Once you have finished, the green button beside any pair — the one showing their expected value — opens a board-by-board comparison against them. This is the part of an event worth the time: not the placing, but seeing exactly which two boards separated you.
It needs both sessions to be finished, so a pair still bidding cannot be compared with yet.
Season points and winning
Finishing an event earns Cuebids Circuit Points, which run on an eight-week season. Robot pairs are excluded, and tied pairs share a rank.
- Points are doubled in the last two weeks of a season.
- Winning adds to your win count, and brings a notification, an email and an in-app message.
- A season leaderboard finish earns a badge, shown on your user card.

Fair play
Events, the Weekly and ranked challenges are the competitive parts of Cuebids, and they run on the assumption that everybody is bidding as if it were real bridge.
- Do not cheat, share unauthorised information, or coordinate with other players in a way that affects the result.
- Do not try to abuse the robots. Play a commonly known system and keep artificial openings within reasonable limits — similar in spirit to how the WBF or ACBL restrict systems.
- The format sometimes tells you more about your partner's hand than you would know at a table, their strength for instance. Bid as though you did not.
What events are good for
The value is not the placing. It is that a common set of deals gives you a control group: when you bid a hand one way and half the field bid it another, that is a specific, answerable question about your methods, which is much harder to get from practice hands nobody else has bid.
- The Daily is the low-commitment one: eight boards, gone in a sitting.
- The Weekly rewards consistency over 24 boards, which is a truer measure of a partnership than eight.
- Neither is required for anything else in Cuebids. They do not gate features or affect your ranked challenge rating.
Common questions
What does entry cost?
One ticket per board per person: eight for the Daily, 24 for the Weekly.
Do I need a partner?
Yes, they are partnership events. Lia can partner you, which needs a Diamond subscription in these events.
How long do I have?
The Daily refreshes every 24 hours; the Weekly runs for a week. Within that window you bid at whatever pace suits you.
What is the highest possible score?
Three stars a board, so 24 in the Daily and 72 in the Weekly. Par is not always findable, so real top scores sit a little below.
Does an event affect my rank?
No. Ranked challenges are a separate system with their own rating. Events do feed the same season points, though.
What if I do not finish in time?
You get no leaderboard entry and no season points. The boards you did bid are still yours to review.
Why am I not on the leaderboard?
There is a star minimum: 15 of 24 in the Daily, 45 of 72 in the Weekly. Your own pair is always visible to you even below it.
Can I play the same event twice?
No. One entry each, so you cannot replay it with a different partner.
Are events ever free?
Occasionally. A discounted or free event shows the normal price struck through beside the new one.
