Bridge Masters Sjoert and Bas Win Their First Cuebids Weekly

Bridge champions Sjoert Brink and Bas Drijver, known for their remarkable success in the Bermuda Bowl and NABC, have achieved a new milestone 😉 by winning their first Cuebids Weekly event.
The Dutch professionals use Cuebids a lot these days, I see them in almost every event!
This weekend I played the Dutch League. I played Berend van den Bos and Joris van Lankveld and before we played the match we discussed the daily event on Cuebids.
Winning the weekly events on Cuebids is hard, as there are many pairs joining and among them a lot of professional bridge players from around the world.
Since you can see how all the pros bid, this is a great opportunity to learn from the best. What did the Dutch masters do differently to earn the win?
A key moment in their journey to the top was the critical Deal 20. In this review, you will have the chance to bid both Sjoert and Bas's hands.
Sjoert (North) has a tough decision immediately.

Even if you decided to double, don't feel bad. There were many who did; Ola Rimstedt for instance, chose to double as well. But Sjoert passed and the auction continues...
Next it was Bas (South) with an interesting spot.

West annoyingly raises spades which puts Sjoert in a tight spot.

We doubled with our 5 card heart suit and now partner found a responsive double.
We clearly belong in hearts, but how high?

How did you do?
The game is tight with possible losers in both majors and in diamonds. But, it was good enough for 3 stars and out of roughly 200 pairs, only 10% found the major suit game.
It's always great practice to play the weekly events, as you can compare with the best of the best.

Cuebids created a bidding tool with many good hands, great interface and a competitive character. I like to challenge friends, although I dislike that Bas and I always lose against the Rimstedts (Ola and Mikael)... luckily we beat them in padel :))
